I think that that is only a small part of it. I honestly don't believe vice presidential candidates deliver states. I think Lyndon Johnson was the last one who actually did when he delivered Texas for John F. Kennedy in 1960. But what he does give her is someone who is stable, reliable, someone who won't make mistakes and someone who is clearly qualified for the office.
