as I listened to the debate and as I listened to the virtues of the proposed legislation and as I listened to those who expressed opposition, it would seem to me that there ought to be a middle ground, that there ought to be a point where the children come first, where finding them, making sure that their parents can wake up and see their children that they have not seen. That often requires a bit of give and take. I think that there could be other opportunities to debate and discuss criminal justice punishment, to discuss what it is that you do as individuals have committed a crime. It would serve us well if we could arrive at the point where today we are simply talking about finding missing children, not punishing perpetrators, not putting people in jail, but finding missing children. Mr. Chairman, I yield back the balance of my time.
