I want to thank the gentleman from Virginia for yielding. I rise in opposition to the proposed multistate mortgage settlement currently being negotiated between the country's major mortgage servicers and the State attorney generals. Before we haphazardly rush into a settlement, we need to pause for what I call station identification, so to speak. I'm speaking on the wrong bill. But I also rise in opposition to the synthetic drug bill. I think there is not enough research. I think there's information still needed. I don't think that we are in a position to allow this action to take place, and so I join in opposition to passage of this legislation.
