The Public Record

Very good. It is very difficult to move forward with any of these projects that are really of national and regional significance without having the Federal Government involved there.
I want to get you on record, Mr. Foye, as saying this is something that you certainly do support for these mega-projects.
I believe this legislation has the potential to improve our return on investment and research.
As I noted in my opening statement the draft legislation doesn't specify the types of activity that should be supported, so I wanted to get a little bit more into that.
A big part of our future competitiveness depends on our ability to move new and emerging technologies out of the lab and into the mainstream of commerce.
We need sustained investments and smart policies if we want to remain the world leader in science and technology.
I certainly think that is critical. Entrepreneurial education is something I also am very supportive of.
We must capitalize on these opportunities and get the best possible return in our investments in research through the creation of new projects, new companies, and new American jobs.
We need to do all we can to help turn American discoveries into American jobs.
