On the recordDecember 5, 2001
Mr. Speaker, I am very proud and privileged to rise today to support this resolution. These American heroes launched the first offensive action of the United States of America's war on terrorism. They truly are American heroes. They knew the odds were overwhelmingly against them; yet motivated by patriotism, love of God, family, and country, they attacked the terrorists to protect other Americans in America. Someone once said, ``Responsibility is a wine press that brings forth strange juices.'' The juices that came from these passengers on United Flight 93 were unbelievable strength and unlimited courage. Like those Americans on Bataan, Corregidor, and Wake Island, these Americans sacrificed for their country and their families. No American should ever forget what they accomplished.
