I rise today to honor Brian Johnson, CEO of Equality Illinois, who will be ending his tenure at the end of this month. For nearly a decade, Brian has been a driving force behind the rapid growth and rise of Equality Illinois, turning it into a powerful multi-issue advocacy organization dedicated to advancing LGBTQ+ civil rights across the State. At a time when we are seeing the LGBTQ+ community face relentless attacks, Brian has been at the helm of Equality Illinois fighting back and ensuring our State remains a safe, inclusive place for everyone. As he enters this new chapter in his life, I wish him the best of luck and am confident that he will continue the good fight protecting and empowering the LGBTQ+ community in Illinois and across the country.
