I have to hold onto that optimism for the prospects of peace because the alternative is too dark.

This July 4th marks four years since Katherine Goldstein, Irina and Kevin McCarthy, Jacquelyn Sundheim, Nicolas Toledo-Zaragoza, Stephen Straus, and Eduardo Uvaldo were murdered in a senseless act of gun violence.

I’m extremely proud that the House has passed this important legislation that enhances CBP’s ability to disrupt counterfeit trafficking networks and better safeguards our economy and communities.

This resolution ensures we will never forget the seven souls lost that day—nor the survivors who live with trauma and grief.
