I think everybody understands at this point that we are experiencing the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

It's also important that we continue to work with governments around the globe to confront what is truly a global crisis.

We need policies that grow our economy from the bottom-up, so that every American, everywhere, has the chance to get ahead.

Because in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle-class.
