Michelle and I send our congratulations to a fellow Chicagoan, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. This is a historic day for the United States, and we will pray for him as he begins the sacred work of leading the Catholic Church and setting an example for so many, regardless of faith.
But living in a democracy is about recognizing that our point of view won’t always win out, and being willing to accept the peaceful transfer of power.
I believe these two reforms would have contributed significantly to the sustainability of Social Security.
And one of the most disturbing things about this election and about Trump's rise in politics is how we seem to have set the values we were taught aside, how we seem to disregard them, how we pretend they don't matter.
