They were able to laugh with Rush when he pointed out when we were trying to reform welfare that the average welfare recipient was on welfare for 13 years and Rush wondered if maybe that was not quite a while for a guy to be able to go down and get the want ads in the local newspaper. Rush took all of these aspects of government and he held them up to the American people and he did it with humor.”
