If my colleague wouldn't mind, and you mentioned it just a few minutes ago, this idea passed this body with a large majority. That to me seems like this is the will of the American people. It's not just some agenda or some crazy pie-in-the-sky idea. This is the will of the American people, and it's the responsibility of us to ensure that we're being safe. I mean, it just seems very basic to me, and so I'm having a hard time figuring out how and why politics has come into play on this. I think this is a debate we solved decades ago. But nonetheless, out in Washington, D.C., nothing surprises me in the 10 months I've been out here.
