This resolution today is extraordinarily important for real people who are facing a real problem of trying to deal with a tax that they believe to be wrong. Many believe, as I do, that it is simply immoral to tax twice assets that people have worked all of their lives to save, to try and put something together for a family, to build a business, and then at the day of death have the Federal Government walk in and say that we are going to take away 50 to 60 percent of those assets that have been worked a lifetime for. There are some economists that say that no one pays the death tax; it is not a big consequence. The fact of the matter is that is simply wrong.
