The Freedom to Farm bill was premised that we would put farmers on the free market. However, Freedom to Farm ripped the safety net out from agriculture. Farmers all across America recognize that Freedom to Farm has been a total and absolute disaster when it comes to protecting farm income, and it has to be changed. That is why the first thing we need to do is get the emergency package, but then we have to address the end-of-the-line problem of Freedom to Farm.
