Senator Gorton and I are pleased to have our concern for the Byrne program reflected in this budget. Chairman Sasser has done a great service to local law enforcement efforts by making sure the conference report fully funding this program that is vital to fighting crime and drugs throughout America. I also want to thank the chairman for working so hard to assure the funding for this program.
