The Senator is right on the mark. The House wanted to keep the Department of Education from issuing what we call a gainful employment rule, which basically is a rule saying, if you are going to take all this money and you are supposed to be educating kids to get a job or career, what is happening to them? We want to know if they are actually getting jobs. What could be more innocent than that? We want to know how they are doing. Yet the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives wanted to stop the Department from issuing that rule.
