I share Senator Reid's support for the CDC's Chronic Disease Comprehensive Cancer program. As someone who has dedicated a good deal of my career to advancing treatment and services for people with cancer, I especially appreciate the importance of this program. Having lost my two sisters and my brother to cancer, I consider myself a cancer survivor and know too well the toll this disease takes on everyone. We are under very tight budget constraints this year, but we need to support the highest possible funding level for comprehensive cancer in conference so we can ensure every cancer survivor has access to the necessary and appropriate care before, during, and after cancer touches their life.
