I believe, as do the majority of scientists, that global climate change is occurring, and is due in part to human activities. I also believe that the U.S. has a responsibility to provide international and domestic leadership on this issue, and to begin to take action. Despite these resolutions, the United States remains inactive on these issues. We are not displaying enough leadership on combating global warming, either domestically or abroad. And we are beginning to see some early warning signals about the consequences if we persist in our inaction.
