“When they can co-operate together they still have the ownership of it, and it is going right back to that family farm. Whatever is gained there is a good thing for not only them but for the community, for the State, for the country. I think we have to look for opportunities to enhance that. That is what the gentlewoman is trying to do. I would ask the chairman if he would help, and if we get a chance to do things for these people, that we pull together to do it. I have confidence that the gentleman will. I am delighted that I can come here this afternoon and participate in this dialogue. We are doing the right thing. Everybody is interested to have safe, plentiful, and affordable food. We ought to do everything we can to be sure that happens. I say our chances are much better if we have it spread over the land, over a number of family farms, rather than in the collective hands of a few.”
