You do not get to say those words on the floor of the U.S. Senate, defend a president who was trying to stay in office after he lost an election and expect to get reelected in a state like Iowa.

It is about having somebody who is going to step up for the health care, who is going to fight for lower prescription drug prices, who is actually going to have the backs of their family again.

In Iowa, when I talk to employers about workforce development and ways to bring new investment into our region, access to affordable childcare almost always comes up and it is almost always at the top of the list.

Communities like mine, quite frankly, were left behind because we have the highest concentration of community-based financial institutions.
