I happen to be the only naturalized citizen sitting on this committee, and I am horrified by the implication that naturalized citizens basically get second-class citizenship.

We should be supporting our public schools, not taking resources away from them.

Nearly 90 percent of K through 12 students attend public schools, yet Republicans are pushing a plan in this bill to undermine support for public schools.

So can somebody respond to me, do you have something in writing that says here are all the different things that we're going to need to do to mitigate what happens in a disaster so that you can continue to provide services to the Veterans?
