“I thank the Senator from Connecticut for yielding his time on the floor for a question, and I want to join all the people of Hawaii in expressing our deep sadness and condolences to the families and friends of all those who lost their lives and who were injured in this tragedy in Orlando. Our entire country shares in your grief. Like everyone who has spoken today, I am saddened and outraged by what occurred in Orlando this past weekend. One of the victims, Kimberly ``K.J.'' I shared a transition office with Senator Murphy in the days following the Newtown attack, and I saw his dedication and passion on this issue firsthand. In his first speech on the Senate floor, the Senator from Connecticut said: I never imagined that my maiden speech would be about guns or gun violence.…”
