Hawai‘i’s greatest strength has always been our people and our ability to come together when challenges arise.

This is a meaningful step for Hawaiʻi and reflects what we have heard from communities across the state: When federal lands are no longer needed, they should be returned.

It just didn’t create a scenario in which another Democrat thought it made sense to run against us.
