I share Senator Johnson's and Senator Daschle's continued interest in maintaining the B-1 as a long-range, penetrating bomber. This plane's recent performance in Afghanistan testifies to its ability to help the nation deal with the types of threats we face in the 21st century. I appreciate their bringing to my attention the recent progress in the DSUP testing program. I will work with my colleagues from South Dakota to address B-1 funding issues when the defense appropriations bill goes to conference.
