This amendment is in response to the great number of mergers that we have found in the business community, and this amendment calls for a report to be issued by the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Labor, and that report shall include an analysis and breakdown of restructuring costs paid by or submitted to DOD, analysis of the specific costs associated with work force reductions, analysis of the services provided to the workers affected by business combinations, an analysis of the effectiveness of the restructuring costs used to assist laid-off workers in gaining employment. This amendment, Mr. President, has been approved by both managers.
