I join with the Senator from Maine in recognizing the critical need for us to acquire and modernize our naval fleet in order to strengthen our Navy and Marine Corps for the 21st century. The Senator from Maine has been a real advocate for the Navy's shipbuilding programs and I look forward to this and future discussions on these very important issues.
