Brian Schatz: “They play a critical role in assuring the continued operation of an open and democratic Congress.”

Hurricanes and floods and tornadoes and fires don’t pick and choose their targets based on how the last election went.

Congress passed a law to invest in saving lives, protecting the American people, and advancing our interests abroad; it did not hand Trump a checkbook to spend on whatever he pleases while blocking funding for everything else.

We’re all paying the price for our inaction.

It’s the warming planet.
