On the recordMarch 10, 1998
I believe that the people in this country, our school boards in this country, are as creative and as ingenious and as bright as it takes to be able to establish the right kinds of protocol so that every child would be given the opportunity to express him or herself in a way that is evenhanded. We live in a melting pot. America has been always a melting pot with many, many backgrounds and many generations of people coming from all over the world to make their home on these soils. I believe that they bring a very, very interesting set of backgrounds and histories and religious traditions which is a part of our national cultural heritage.
