I support the Blue Dog budget very simply because it provides debt reduction with savings to Social Security and Medicare, priority spending for education, veterans, agriculture, defense, health care and prescription drugs, and provides responsible tax relief from the death tax, the marriage penalty, and it gives deductions for health care to the self-employed. It is a good budget. It is fiscally responsible, and we just ought to pass it.
