The lack of transparency here in Effingham County and in counties across our state and across the country is unacceptable, and that’s why today I’m calling for a moratorium on data centers.

We don’t have to imagine. We are seeing it in real time, and everyday people, as a result of that, are struggling—struggling to buy groceries, struggling to buy gas, struggling to buy their kids back-to-school supplies.

I will continue to work closely with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to reach an agreement that supports Georgia’s farmers and ensures families have the resources they need to buy groceries at the end of the month.
