The people of Georgia stepped up last year when our communities were devastatingly hit by Hurricane Helene.

Georgia communities will be more resilient and better prepared for severe weather with new systems to combat flooding and improved emergency communications.

I’m grateful to the Gullah Geechee community members who shared their experiences and ideas on how we can protect their health while preserving lands that have been passed down for generations.
