Jimmy Carter: “This bill represents a reasonable approach to the broad advancement of fusion research and technology.”

Our great nation now teeters on the brink of a widening abyss. Without immediate action, we are at genuine risk of civil conflict and losing our precious democracy.

But among those who believe the case should be re-opened are politicians who don't always agree with each other, ranging from former president, Jimmy Carter to conservative former Georgia congressman, Bob Barr.

All of us owe them our gratitude and respect.

This is a very wise and very courageous thing for President Obama to do. And in my opinion, is long overdue.
