Jimmy Carter: “I want to affirm that friendship, to cement that alliance, and to give form and substance to that partnership.”

This is a very wise and very courageous thing for President Obama to do. And in my opinion, is long overdue.

That our country for the first time in my lifetime has abandoned basic principles of human rights.

I don't agree with that at all.

Our great nation now teeters on the brink of a widening abyss. Without immediate action, we are at genuine risk of civil conflict and losing our precious democracy.
