I wanted someone who not only was a theoretician or a distinguished economist--which Ray Marshall is certainly capable of exhibiting--but I also wanted somebody who knows in practical terms the impact of unemployment on an individual human being or an individual family in our country.

Well, the agreement is not supposed to help the Cuban dictators and it doesn't. But the agreement does it helps both the Cuban people and the American people in the long-term.
I think that sends a clear signal to Maliki that we won't be there indefinitely and my hope is that they'll be a commitment by the world community including the controversial nations of Syria and Iran.
I respectfully disagree with what President Bush had to say. I don't think that the safety of America depends at all on the extended presence of U.S. troops in Iraq.
