Jimmy Carter: “I believe that we can count on the full support of Americans in time of trial or time of danger to defend our country.”

Our great nation now teeters on the brink of a widening abyss. Without immediate action, we are at genuine risk of civil conflict and losing our precious democracy.

I would prefer a much more rapid withdrawal myself and I don't know what the, you know, what the recommendation will be until I see the written report.

I don't think the administration has ever picked up the ball, much less dropped it.

I hope that this book, which is -- has a provocative title, but I don't consider provocative to be a bad word.
