There was no reason for us to become involved in Iraq recently. That was a war based on lies and misrepresentations from London and from Washington, claiming falsely that Saddam Hussein was responsible for the 9/11 attacks, claiming falsely that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. A decision was made to go to war, their people said, let's find a reason to do so.
We Democrats have never been neutral about liberty and we Democrats will never waver in our duty to keep America strong and able to meet any challenge, and you can depend on that.
I respectfully disagree with what President Bush had to say. I don't think that the safety of America depends at all on the extended presence of U.S. troops in Iraq.
The amendment would resolve these difficulties and facilitate greater safety by allowing a State of registry and a State of the operator to agree to transfer these responsibilities to the State of the operator.
