I firmly believe that... our Nation is stronger, wealthier, more compassionate and freer than it was four years ago.

We can no longer assume as we could in the past that the Earth will heal and renew itself indefinitely.

The United States expects to benefit directly from this amendment.

It would serve the Nation equally ill to underrate our strengths and our proven ability to handle difficult issues.
