The text of the amendment is as follows: At the end of subtitle E of title X, add the following new section: SEC. 1065A. REPORT ON PLANNED REDUCTIONS OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS OF THE UNITED STATES. Not later than January 15, 2013, the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff shall jointly submit to the congressional defense committees a report on whether-- (1) the planned reductions to the number of nuclear weapons of the United States pursuant to the levels set forth under the New START Treaty are in the national security interests of the United States; and (2) such reductions should continue.
