We have a right to privacy, and that right should not just be given away without adequate knowledge on behalf of the consumer what they're giving away. This bill has proceeded to the suspension calendar without any kind of hearing before the Judiciary Committee on whether or not the bill should be marked up or not. We have not heard from experts. We don't know what kind of waiver by Internet, we don't know the mechanics of that waiver. We don't know how easy it will be to waive your right. It could be as easy as waiving your right to a jury trial in a cell phone contract. For those reasons, I ask that this bill be denied.”
