And this despite an analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office suggesting that extending unemployment benefits is the most cost-effective and fast-acting way to spur the economy. Congressional Republicans support the special interests that benefited from George Bush policies and created the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.
