David Scott: “I hope you will leave this hearing with the knowledge that we have to correct this mess--and it is a mess.”

It is clear that we need to come together, Republicans and Democrats, on a farm bill that strengthens the farm safety net, and we are going to do it together.

My feeling is Speaker Johnson will not bring this bill to the floor for a vote because it was not written as a serious bill.

It is my hope that our farm bill will take all of this into consideration.

She brought it up in 2 weeks in July, which is the height now of appropriations season.
