Val Demings: “the intensity of this storm should call all of us concerned.”

As Members of Congress, our primary responsibility is the safety of the American people. When we think about our own children, our own grandchildren, wouldn't we do anything, anything at all to protect them?

We are here to discuss communities that are most at-risk during disasters and struggle to recover properly from their effects.

I believe the officers knew or they should have known that punching Tyre in the face or kicking him in the face could cause death or great bodily harm.

I'm sure the investigation will certainly help us all understand -- why they did not assess the condition of Tyre and render the necessary aid.
