I want to talk to you about the citrus industry, and you know well that Florida is number one in citrus, and you know our plight down there with the greening.
My concern is, due to the incentives, and some of the language, especially with the reference price of $5.35, that we are seeing an increase in peanut production already nationwide by 29 percent.
And so I was real happy, and I know the citrus producers are real happy in our area, to see the money that was put into that.
I think what it means to me is I sleep better at night knowing that we can produce our needs and where we are not dependent as much on foreign oil.
The President should also stop blocking the long-delayed Keystone XL Pipeline which would create an estimated 20,000 jobs.
I think we need that balance between national security and cost, as the Admiral brought up.
I think every policy we do as a Federal Government should be to make America stronger because if we don't do that, who's going to do that?
