During my time in Congress, my colleagues and I have repeatedly striven to hold the government of Myanmar accountable for its ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya.

Conditions for the Rohingya worsened to a horrific extent several years ago when the region erupted into full-scale, State-sponsored violence, killing tens of thousands and forcing over 700,000 to flee to neighboring countries like…

But this is not a new issue. This is something that is--you know, we have looked at this and as I hear all the testimoneys, we look at our foreign policy, we can look back 20, 30, 40 years and those policies go to good governance…

Without some accountability and transparency, we do not know where that money is going.
