It is a country where millions of women are turned away from basic health care, where the wealthy can buy access to our courts, and the poor are denied justice, where we abandon our obligation to pass on a cleaner, safer world to the next generation, where the voices of a thousand workers' cries for better treatment fall on a few pairs of deaf ears, where we deny children the arts education that has helped inspire the greatest culture on Earth.
