Should Egypt succeed as a democracy this will bolster hopes for a stable Middle East.

It is a transition back to an autocracy that would make the Mubarak government look liberal by comparison.

It was intended to frighten domestic Egyptian NGOs from doing work anything remotely related to politics, democracy promotion, human rights.

I trust that will be a positive and hopefully simple result to come from this hearing.
