Mr. Speaker, through his writing, his work, and his life, Elie Wiesel helped the world know what transpired when Hitler tried to annihilate the Jews; and he lifted up the world in committing himself, and now all of us, to doing everything we can to ensure that nothing like that ever transpires again. I am so grateful to my friend, Mr. Israel, and to the other Members who coauthored this resolution. Mr. Speaker, I urge its passage. I yield back the balance of my time.
