Our hearing this afternoon touches on topics that are old and new to our subcommittee, data privacy and the integration of artificial intelligence or AI at VA.

I suspect that the VA's history of allowing the medical facilities to operate independently of each other has made this program complicated.

I am interested in hearing from VA how they intend to utilize these tools while protecting veterans private and health information and Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

I wholeheartedly support the VA's decision to delay any further go lives while they fix the issue at five sites currently live on the Cerner system.
