I rise to support this vital amendment that would extend the prohibition on offshore drilling from 100 to 125 miles off the coast. The amendment would also require States to proactively opt in, as has been described, to drilling, giving States that do not want to drill the ability to do so clearly. This amendment is vital to coastal States as it provides further protection from drilling, and I would urge everyone to support it.
