This is a decision that essentially takes the 'air' out of 'airborne.'

You know, without maritime lift capacity, my sons that are all in the Army are going to be kind of hard-pressed just because you can't put a Paladin or an Abrams--you can't carry very many on an aircraft.

Eliminating the ability to rapidly mobilize, train, and deploy... increases risk at an unacceptable rate.

I think we can do that, but I think we need to avoid as some people are trying--seeing Kurds as the solution to this problem.
