If the gentleman would yield, I understand his position as it relates to something that occurred 30 or 40 years ago. But last year he didn't even offer it. It was made in order during the fiscal year, and he didn't even offer it.

I think we can do that, but I think we need to avoid as some people are trying--seeing Kurds as the solution to this problem.
People forget that there is actually flesh and blood, parents and children, of those young men and women that are serving this country. They forget there are real people in those uniforms. And so that is why this is so important.
One of the recommendations I believe from that panel was also to invest more in medical countermeasures. Are we doing that? Are we investing more or are we staying status quo?
I want to make sure that the Chief of Police is accountable to you all and through oversight of this committee.
